Image processing with Parallella

The project aim is to use the multi-core Parallella processors for real-time image processing.
The goal is to demonstrate image enhancement (e.g basic filters) algorithms as well as progressing to more complicated image processing.

The project aim is to use the multi-core Parallella processors for real-time image processing.
The goal is to demonstrate image enhancement (e.g basic filters) algorithms as well as progressing to more complicated image processing.

The project will include three main stages –

(I) The first stage aim is to familiarize with the `Parallella` system and the methods for programming its multi-core capabilities and its Linux environment.
(II) Integrate a camera connection to Parallella system (on the Linux based system) that will enable to streaming of the input video and to display it.
(III) Implement efficient image enhancement algorithms utilizing Parallella’s multi-core  processors – so that real time display of the streams is possible.
